HB 4138 Public Meeting Today!

Central Oregon Boat Show Reading HB 4138 Public Meeting Today! 2 minutes Next We Are Coming to Central Oregon!
Please join us in opposing Oregon House Bill 4138. This Bill would give the Oregon Department of State Lands the authority to request the Oregon State Marine Board make new regulations in regard to erosion. While this bill may have been conceived with good intentions, its passage may give groups that aren’t involved in boating too much power in regulating our waterways.
  • Boat wakes are just one small part of the erosion equation, passage of this bill may lead to large losses of usable waterways for boaters
  • Mixed user groups are currently working with the Oregon State Marine Board to come up with shared solutions, adding additional State agencies will not help the process
  • Environmental groups are well-funded and could easily jump on this bill and shut down areas of public recreation
There is a public meeting being held Wednesday, February 21 at 3 p.m. in Hearing Room B at the Oregon State Capitol Building. If you are unable to attend, please send written testimony to: sbt.exhibits@oregonlegislature.gov. In the subject line, please note: Opposition to HB 4138. Thank you for your support!
