Upper Willamette Rules Support 1-3-19

Happy New Year! We wanted to send out a message to urge you to support the new proposed boating rules for the Upper Willamette. We have worked extensively with the Oregon State Marine Board on these new rules and if they pass, it will open the full stretch of the Upper Willamette for use of Wake Enhancing devices. • Wake Enhancing Device Ban will be removed – this opens 17 miles of river
• Wakeboarding with ballast on full stretch of river
• Surfing with ballast in designated areas – opens over 7 miles of river for surfing

Please send the Marine Board a note voicing your support to osmb.rulemaking@oregon.gov. We need to show support for these proposed rules so the Marine Board will move forward with putting them into place. Public comment period is only open until January 13th. Get you comments in now before time run out. If you prefer to show your support in person, the Marine Board will be holding a meeting in Wilsonville on January 9th.
