Wedges are a Malibu patented technology designed to produce downforce to increase wake size without adding extra weight.  The current design of replacement wedges, such as the floating wedge are welded for greater durability compared to the brazed units originally installed on older Malibu boats. Many DIY videos are available on YouTube to guide you through the process of replacing your wedge.
